The Company

Specialist Imaging Limited (SIL) was established in 1989 with the main objective of developing a more efficient and sophisticated method of storing, accessing and retrieving documents than was currently available.

The founders had extensive experience of developing and marketing microfiche based services for the NCR Corporation and formed SIL to pursue PC based alternatives. From the outset the company adopted a policy of developing its own products in preference to promoting third party products.

From January 1998 Imscan Systems Ltd was formed to focus on core systems business and to augment the company's identity with the strong IMSCAN brand name. Specialist Imaging concentrated on growing as a service bureau for document capture and eventually would become IMSCAN.NET - the service arm of Imscan Systems Ltd.

The company's own developed product is IMSCAN - an integrated document management solution comprising of a suite of products for different business environments from client-server solutions to browser based and workflow technologies.
