IMSCAN Document Management
IMSCAN manages your business documents. It handles the capture, storage and retrieval of document images to provide fast, detailed access to the business information you want to see. Paper-based, computer-generated and native format documents (such as MS-Office? docs) are available from a single point of access for effortless viewing, management and distribution.
Scanning. IMSCAN is capable of capturing, storing and displaying over 100 different file formats including the most popular formats such as TIFF, JPG and BMP. This technology is traditionally referred to as Document Image Processing (DIP). Physical documents can be scanned into the system using any of a wide range of industry standard scanners. Indexing methods include manual, barcode, OCR (Optical Character Recognition), ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition) and database lookup/import routines from other systems. Methods can also be combined to provide maximum flexibility and efficiency with any particular document type.
Computer Output. IMSCAN is particularly powerful when managing data from a host system. Data or spool files (including ASCII, PCL and Postscript) are processed through the system, indexed automatically and stored in a standard archive format to storage media such as CD, Optical or hard disk. IMSCAN pages the spooled data, along with forms overlays of the original stationery (if required), presenting the user with a recognisable copy of the document as it would have been printed originally. No more multi-part stationery or bulky paper--based reports.
Universal File Support. IMSCAN supports a vast array of native file formats such as Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word (DOC), Microsoft Excel (XLS), Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook emails. So, regardless of whether you?re using popular formats like Microsoft Office or Lotus files, or whether you require support for specialist and/or obscure file formats, IMSCAN can easily and securely archive the file - displaying it back through the IMSCAN viewer, or via the native application it was created/viewed in.
